New Vacancy - Festival of Social Sciences Co-ordinator

The LSSI is a vibrant research Institute that works to support and enhance the social sciences across the University and in collaboration with our external partners.  It fosters interdisciplinary and international research collaborations, promotes relations with external partners in the public, private and third sectors and builds capacity through the provision of training and skills development for the next generation of research leaders.

The Festival of Social Science (FOSS) is held over 3/4 weeks once per year, LSSI has been chosen as the host for the Festival Manager role and will lead on the communication, website update and design, evaluation of the festival on behalf of ESRC.   The festival coordination will be across 32 Impact Acceleration Account (IAA’s) holders across the UK.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to work as part of a team to deliver the ESRC Festival of Social Science activities and events. The post holder will be liaising with the Festival Manager and ESRC to ensure smooth delivery of the festival.

You will have experience of providing professional administrative support with the ability to manage events and processes.  You will be a good problem solver, have good analytical skills and be able to work under pressure. The ability to work alone or as part of a team is essential, as are strong organisational, interpersonal, communication skills and to work to tight deadlines.
