'Gay monuments in queer times'

Date

At Leeds Social Sciences Institute, we support interdisciplinary research. We are pleased to share with you our Social Science Shorts series of videos.

In this video, Dr Martin Zebracki, Associate Professor of Critical Human Geography, talks to Prof. Gehan Selim, Professor of Architecture and Deputy Director of the LSSI, at the University of Leeds. In his role as project PI, Zebracki discusses the AHRC-funded research Queer Memorials: International Comparative Perspectives on Sexual Diversity and Social Inclusivity (QMem). The discussion focuses on one of the case study outputs ‘Gay monuments in queer times: Amsterdam’s Homomonument and the politics of inclusive social practice’, jointly authored by Zebracki, Dr Freek Janssens (QMem Postdoctoral Research Fellow) and Professor Robert Vanderbeck (QMem Co-Investigator). The article is available in Open Access as advance online publication in Sexualities at this link.
