Engaging with UK Parliament: focus on climate and environmental research

Date

Tuesday 7 March | 12:00 – 13:00 | School of Earth and Environment seminar room 8.119

Research and evidence have a crucial role to play in making and scrutinising policy. As the use of evidence-informed policy making has increased following the pandemic, the demand for high quality and relevant research to inform decisions continues to grow.

But what is the best way to go about sharing your research with UK Parliament? How can you navigate the various committees and calls for evidence?

The Priestley Centre and Policy Leeds invite you to hear from an expert panel that will share various experiences of engaging with Parliament.

We will be joined by very special guest Dr Tamsin Edwards, Reader in Climate Change at King’s College London and Parliamentary Thematic Research Lead (Climate & Environment), who is currently working to strengthen climate and environment evidence-based policy making.

The panel will include researchers who are working with the UK Climate Change Committee, have advised the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy, and have taken up fellowships with POST.
