Advanced Qualitative Methods (AQualM) Deputy Director - WRDTP

Date

The White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership is seeking to recruit an Advanced Qualitative Methods (AQualM) Deputy Director.  This role will be held by a colleague in an accredited department from one of our seven partner universities (of which the University of Leeds is one), and is an excellent opportunity in terms of networking and career development. A full role description is attached below.

Working collaboratively with the AQualM Director and fellow Deputy Director, the AQualM Deputy Director will plan and deliver an annual programme of advanced qualitative research methods training, ensuring that this offer is broad-based and innovative, so that PGRs have the opportunity to experience a variety of established and cutting-edge research methods and tools

The role of AQualM Deputy Director will be taken up by an academic colleague with:

  • enthusiasm for research methods training and a genuine commitment to PGR support and development
  • experience of delivering PGR training and/or support
  • a background in research that utilises high quality and innovative qualitative methodological approaches

The role is available from the start of the 2023/24 academic year (or sooner), and has an indicative workload of 0.1 FTE. This is to provide role-holders and line managers with a realistic sense of the time that is required to undertake the role. The term is for three years.

The role is being advertised across all partner institutions.  The application should include a current CV and max 400 word expression of interest indicating why you are the person for this role.  You should also confirm that the 0.1 FTE buyout has been agreed by your Head of Department/School.

The application deadline is midday on Thursday 29 June and interviews will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 20 July.

Applications should be sent to training@wrdtp.ac.uk. If you would like to discuss this role informally, you are welcome to contact Professor Felicity Matthews, White Rose DTP Director, f.m.matthews@sheffield.ac.uk.
