Sophie Rowan

Sophie is the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences Coordinator.  The Festival is an ESRC-funded celebration of the social sciences which is a UK-wide event.  Alongside the Festival Manager, Sophie delivers the communication, coordination and evaluation of the festival on behalf of ESRC, working with the 32 universities in the UK who hold Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAAs).

Sophie's background is in the third sector in London, where she previously worked as a qualified independent advocate, supporting survivors of trauma, and as an education and training practitioner with young people. She has also worked on project coordination in digital healthcare in Leeds, is passionate about the link between health & wellbeing and equity & inclusion, and has an interest in Mindfulness-based approaches.
