Illuminating Recovery: The light of social support - Leeds Light Night

Part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science

This interactive art installation offers audience members the opportunity to engage with academic research findings through artistic expression.

The centrepiece of the installation will be a tree, symbolising growth and resilience, with "veins" of light radiating through its roots and leading up the trunk.  These veins represent the various forms of support surrounding victim-survivors, such as family, friends, therapists, and community organisations.  Audience members are encouraged to interact with the installation by pressing buttons to control the intensity of the light, reflecting the importance of social responsibility in supporting others' recovery.

Everyone is welcome to attend the art installation. The piece has been designed for everyone to gain something from visiting, from photos of the illuminated tree to a deeper understanding of social support
