Professor Kate Pangbourne

Kate is a Deputy Director of the Leeds Social Sciences Institute, where she takes the lead in commercialisation of research in the social sciences and in driving our future partnerships strategy.

Kate is Professor of Transport Transitions, and joined the Institute for Transport Studies in June 2016.  At the Institute of Transport Studies, Kate co-leads the Social and Political Sciences Research Group, is PI for her own in innovative research in travel behaviour and persuasive technology for behaviour change, as well as exploring the implications of socio-technical change at the interface of transport, governance and sustainability. Kate also supervises PhD students and teaches Masters and Undergraduates about key challenges in transport and mobility, such as climate change, social inequalities, public health and understanding travel behaviour.
