Leeds City Council’s Museums and Galleries Collaboration

There is a long history of partnership between the University of Leeds and Leeds City Council’s Museums and Galleries.  Academics and Council Officers have worked together to deliver wide ranging benefits for education, research, participation and engagement. 

Abigail Harrison Moore is Professor of Art History and Museum Studies in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies.  Yvonne Hardman is Head of Collections and Programmes at Leeds Museums and Galleries.  Having worked closely together on numerous projects, they share some examples of collaboration between the two organisations and reflect on what makes the partnership work so well.
