LSSI is pleased to announce that Becky Johnson has joined the team.  Becky joined at the start of June to take up the ESRC IAA DTP Business Boost funded post of Industrial Strategy Partnerships Manager.

Becky has an educational background in international development and public policy.  She has managed external collaborations for over ten years and has worked in sectors including global health, agriculture, transport and the arts.

Becky will be supporting the delivery of business partnerships across social sciences, especially linked to opportunities arising from the UK government’s Industrial Strategy.  She will be working with two other Industrial Strategy Partnership Managers at the Universities of York and Sheffield to coordinate activities across the White Rose DTP.  The overarching aim of this work is to enable the University of Leeds to transform and improve its existing industrial and business engagement in the social sciences by securing new and more robust collaborations that will enable the University to take prime advantage of future Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund opportunities.

As part of this work, a number of Collaborator Hub Workshops are in the planning stages, culminating in a WRDTP Business Boost Showcase event in March 2019 that will be hosted at the University of Leeds.

Welcome Becky!
