Inequalities Research Network

This network aims to provide a focal point for raising awareness of the collective work being undertaken on inequity research at and beyond the University of Leeds. At least 20 research centres/groups across the University of Leeds alone conduct research on inequities. We aim to pool our resources and join forces with others working in this area to increase the momentum and profile of such research.

Back in 2015, delegates at an Inequalities Research collaboration workshop, hosted by LSSI, identified eight key themes in which they worked. They supported the idea of establishing a cross disciplinary and multisector inequities network to complement and build on the existing centres and groups. Since then the Network has expanded to national and international members, coming from policy, practice, third sector as well as academic backgrounds.

Network aims:

  • To support members to identify common interests and priorities through information exchange and pooling of resources
  • To collaborate on major issues and challenges, identified by policymakers, public service practitioners and third sector organisations, that cross disciplinary research can play a role in addressing. Details of Network conferences can be found here,  here and here
