'How Ready are Cities for Net Zero?', Part of ESRC Festival of Social Science

Date

This workshop is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science (running 2-9 November). The FoSS celebrates some of the country's leading social science research, demonstrating how the work of social scientists has an impact on all of our lives.

How Ready are Cities for Net Zero?

The UK is the first major economy in the world to pass laws to end its contribution to global warming by 2050 - but how ready are our cities and local authorities to actually achieve this? Researchers at the University of Leeds have developed a Climate Readiness Index to assess the level of preparedness of different places and will be talking about it - and road-testing it with the audience - in the interactive public lecture, which will have a special focus on the housing sector.

This workshop is open to all.
