Climate change, the limits of economic growth, and associated implications for culture, wellbeing, and social justice animate the research agendas of colleagues across the University of Leeds. We seek to forge interdisciplinary links among social scientists interested in environmental justice in low carbon transitions, creating a local network intended to foster research collaborations and funding applications. To this end, we are hosting a research network event for social scientists with shared research interests in environmental sustainability, post-growth economics, and wellbeing, and related topics.

The Environmental Justice in Low Carbon Transitions research network event will take place on 15 July from 13:00-16:30. Participation requires advance booking, as lunch will be provided. The registration deadline is 5 July.

The event agenda is as follows:

13:00-14:30: A working lunch during which all participants very briefly (2-3 min max) introduce a) their research background and b) the areas in which they would be interested developing interdisciplinary projects and grant proposals. Our aim is to identify potential interdisciplinary teams clustered around research themes.

14:30-14:45: Break

14:45-16:00: Participants break into smaller groups according to research themes to discuss project ideas and funding proposal opportunities.

16:00-16:30: Participants reconvene as an entire group to discuss event outcomes and next steps.
