Following a growing debate about the value, contribution and challenges of doing co-production research, the Leeds Social Sciences Institute and the Culture theme organised a collaborative workshop in March 2019 to further explore the challenges, developments and lessons learnt around co-production.

Following this successful and engaging workshop, a Working Group was established to create a ‘Manifesto for Change’.

Drawing on the experiences of researchers across public health, social sciences, and arts and humanities at the University of Leeds, this Manifesto seeks to give collective voice to experiences of the challenges that confront researchers engaged in co-production with diverse partners. It also aims to offer some concrete lessons and tangible learning, as well as recommendations based on these, to inform the essential institutional, political and cultural shifts necessary to foster the conditions conducive to co-production.

At this workshop we will be launching the Manifesto and providing a space for open discussion about how we can create the culture and conditions for co-production to thrive.

Lunch will be provided.
