Working in Partnership Showcase

Date
Date
Wednesday 8 May 2019

Further information about the showcase can be found on the event website

This event will mark the end of a period of funding from ESRC that the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York were awarded back in early 2018. The funding has provided a platform for these three institutions to develop new and existing relationships between the private sector and social science research.

An agenda will be published closer to the time but for reference the day will run from 13:30 - 19:00.

The Showcase will begin by examining the components of successful research collaborations for industry and academia. We will share case studies from Leeds, Sheffield and York that demonstrate how strong relationships have been developed, in areas related to the Industrial Strategy. We will then hear from a high-level multi-stakeholder panel on how effective collaborative working can help respond to the central challenge to the Industrial Strategy, slowing productivity. Senior representatives from industry, academia and government will debate how engagement with social science research can help business address productivity challenges such as skills development and management and changing work cultures.
