An Enquiry into the Observation Process
Leeds and York Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust (LYPNHSFT) provides specialist mental health and learning disability services to the people of Leeds and across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Working in partnership with local communities, their core purpose is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the people who use their services.
Observation and engagement is a key clinical activity which provides an opportunity for health care workers to interact in a therapeutic way with the service user on an individual basis. The Trust is undertaking a review of the current procedure to explore the potential for improvements in service provision. To test a possible new way of working, a pilot project will be conducted across five clinical teams.
