Leeds Bridge Community Church (BCC) has more than a thousand people attend their services each weekend. Their impact is even larger through their mid-week activities. This project aims to assess the social impact of the work of BCC, particularly relating to their service to children from their local community. Working in the deprived and disadvantaged area of Burmantofts, BCC wants to provide a positive and life-changing experience for the local children, expecting that social advancements (e.g. financial management, relational stability) will inevitably result. This project will help them to assess the current and future potential impact that they have. One area of their current activities is “Splashtime”, a term-time, Monday to Friday, parent and toddler group. BCC wants me to evaluate its effectiveness in serving the local community, including through this group. The project will consider the current impact of BCC on their local community and report on potential improvements as suggested by current service users. It is expected that the project will enhance the relationship between BCC, its community, and the local council, enabling more efficient use of resources and increasing potential socio-economic capital.
